Job summary

NAES Chalk Point Generation Station in Aquasco, Maryland, is seeking a Plant Engineer to provide engineering support to optimize plant reliability, performance, and efficiency. You will monitor plant systems, lead root cause investigations, manage engineering and capital projects, and support electrical and control system reliability.

Collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering is essential to maximize availability while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Electrical Engineering preferred.
Demonstrated engineering experience supporting power plant operations, maintenance, or reliability.
Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems (DCS/PLC, relays, transformers).
Experience with predictive maintenance techniques (vibration, thermography, oil analysis).
Ability to lead studies, capital projects, and contractor activities from planning to execution.

Responsibilities

Monitor plant performance of gas turbines, steam turbines, and HRSGs to improve reliability and efficiency.
Investigate failures, outages, and losses; perform root cause analyses and corrective actions.
Support incidents and abnormal conditions with technical analyses and follow-up plans.
Maintain and optimize instrumentation, electrical, and control systems (DCS, PLCs, relays, MCCs).
Lead engineering studies and capital projects; manage scopes, contracts, and schedules.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
