Job summary

NRG Energy, Inc. in Ashland, VA is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Technician to support the safe, reliable operation of a power generation facility.

The role involves operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a range of plant equipment including turbines, HRSG, pumps, and control systems. You will log work in Maximo, monitor instrumentation, adjust water chemistry, perform preventive maintenance, and participate in shift turnover.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent preferred with related training.
• Experience with power plant equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
• Records data with Maximo and documents maintenance actions and spare parts.
• Reads meters and gauges to verify operating conditions and detect malfunctions.
• Controls water chemistry and demineralized water systems in accordance with procedures.
• Takes part in shift turnover and communicates plant conditions clearly.
