Job summary

PROENERGY seeks an Operations Maintenance Technician to provide technical expertise for operation and repair of instrumentation, control systems, and mechanical/electrical equipment in a power plant. Under supervision, you will perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance across plant systems.

The position reports to the Plant Superintendent and is based at 2929 Lockwood Rd., Richmond, TX 77469. Flexibility for irregular schedules and safety-conscious work practices are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (A. A.) in electronics or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Must reside within 30-mile radius from the plant site.
• 2 years’ experience with operations and maintenance of LM6000 Gas Turbines.
• US work authorization is required; sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with various mechanical maintenance duties including predictive maintenance, replacement of filters, gaskets, valve packing, pump alignment, compressors, bearing repacking, and rigging.
• Wiring and disconnection of motors, replacement of thermocouples and fuses, pulling wire, and performing electrical checks.
• Operating and monitoring combustion turbines, 13.8 kV generators and balance of plant equipment, including start up/shut down.
• Reading mechanical, electrical, and control diagrams; calibrations and instrumentation.
• Maintaining inventory control, ordering parts, and keeping maintenance records.
• Ensuring safe work practices and participating in safety tagging and recordkeeping.
• Familiar with instruments, valves, HART communicators, calibrations, and documentation.
• Perform preventive maintenance on major equipment and emergency backup systems.
