Job summary

Vistra Energy is seeking a Maintenance Technician to uphold instrumentation, control, electrical and mechanical systems at a Blackstone, MA power plant. Expect routine and emergency maintenance with a focus on safe, reliable operation and environmental compliance.

Candidate will troubleshoot, calibrate boiler and turbine controls and maintain CEMS in accordance with regulations. Roles require outdoor work in varied conditions and occasional high elevation duties.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years maintenance experience in power generation facilities or similar industrial facilities
• Must have knowledge of Safety and Environment rules as they relate to electrical maintenance
• Capable of frequently standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds
• Familiarity with CMMS/Maximo is preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain instrumentation, control, electrical and mechanical systems to ensure safe, reliable operation
• Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting plant systems
• Inspect, repair, install and remove motors, generators, transformers, switches, circuit breakers, and associated equipment up to 4160 volts
• Tune and calibrate boiler controls for safe and optimal performance
• Calibrate turbine controls and actuators for safe operation
• Maintain and calibrate all plant instrumentation and provide operational data
• Document maintenance history and ensure compliance with CEMS regulations
• Troubleshoot electronic, pneumatic systems, analyzers, facility computers, PID/PLC equipment and instrumentation
• Work in accordance with safety policies (LOTO, PPE, confined spaces)
• Occasionally work in confined spaces and at elevations; pass respirator fit test
