Job summary

Vistra is seeking an experienced Control Room Operator for its Blackstone facility in Blackstone, MA. The role involves operating, maintaining, and monitoring plant systems from the field and responding to alarms with corrective actions.

Expect duties including start-up/shutdown, logs, CMMS documentation, and adherence to safety standards. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of related experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of related experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Effective oral and verbal communications skills.
• If applicable, state license MA or OH.
• Massachusetts 2nd Class Engineer’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and monitor plant systems from the control room on a continuous basis.
• Respond to alarms with corrective actions and execute shutdown/start-up procedures.
• Record operating data in logs and CMMS, and report anomalies to supervisors.
• Perform electrical switching and tagging per lockout procedures and industry guidelines.
• Participate in plant housekeeping and complete maintenance tasks as needed.
• Conduct routine cycle chemistry tests and adjust parameters to stay within limits.
• Read and interpret computer data, instrumentation, gauges, and color readouts.
• Comply with site safety requirements to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Review environmental permits to stay current with operating limits and reporting.
