Job summary

The Instrument and Controls (I&C) Technician at Merom Generating Station in Sullivan, Indiana, performs installation, calibration, testing, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems across plant equipment. You will diagnose issues, implement repairs, commission new equipment, and support safe, efficient power generation.

Responsibilities include keeping detailed records, mentoring less experienced staff, promoting safe work practices, and collaborating with Operations, Maintenance,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2-year associate’s degree in electronic technology or military training equivalence.
• Four years with an electric utility or comparable industry with instrument and control maintenance background.
• Broad knowledge of installation, testing, maintenance and repair of power plant instrumentation and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Tests and repairs instrumentation and control equipment to ensure continuity of systems.
• Installs and commissions instrumentation and control systems equipment.
• Maintains complete records of installation, testing, repair and maintenance activities.
• Provides on-the-job training to personnel of lesser classifications.
• Ensures proper use and security of tools and work areas.
• Suggests improvements to practices, procedures, or system requirements.
• Promotes safe practices and participates in safety meetings and training.
• Collaborates with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Storeroom, and vendors to support projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
