Job summary

Seminole Electric Cooperative, Inc. seeks an experienced Instrumentation & Controls/Electrical Engineering Technician to support plant reliability, efficiency, safety and environmental compliance.

The role emphasizes development of tests, evaluations and cost estimates for process systems and equipment. You will review design modifications, perform feasibility studies, and assist in engineering criteria while coordinating with staff and outside consultants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AS/AA preferred.
• 8 years' experience in large power plants or equivalent training.
• Experience with technical specs, economic studies, and complex problems.
• Familiarity with distributed control systems (DCS).
• Knowledge of NERC standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan equipment or process evaluation and monitoring programs up to three years ahead.
• Review proposed design modifications for completeness and applicability.
• Conduct design studies for Instrumentation and Controls processes.
• Prepare technical specs, pricing docs, bidder lists, and cost estimates.
• Assist other staff on technical/engineering design criteria.
• Analyze complex plant operation or maintenance problems and recommend changes.
• Conduct economic evaluations for equipment proposals.
• Lead or assist in analysis tasks and compliance activities.
• Coordinate with outside consultants as assigned.
• Adhere to safety rules and complete required courses.
• Follow environmental rules and report incidents promptly.
• Provide guidance to operations and maintenance groups on control systems.
