The Instrument and Controls (I&C) Technician is responsible for independently performing the installation, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of instrumentation, control systems, and related electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and computer-based equipment at Merom Generating Station, a two-unit, 1,080 MW coal-fired power plant. This role ensures the reliable operation of critical plant control and monitoring systems that support safe, efficient, and compliant power generation.
The I&C Technician collaborates with plant operations, maintenance, engineering, and vendor personnel to diagnose system issues, implement repairs and upgrades, commission new equipment, and optimize process control performance. The position maintains accurate technical documentation, provides technical guidance and training to less experienced employees, promotes safe work practices, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance plant reliability, efficiency, and operational excellence.
$52.75 - $52.75 an hour
Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record, as this position requires occasional travel for company business. Candidates should be comfortable operating a vehicle as part of their job responsibilities and must meet any applicable company and insurance requirements.
