Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking an experienced electrician to provide electrical maintenance for a generating power plant in a fast-paced environment. You may perform Head Electrician duties during absence and will work with crews to repair and service generators, transformers and associated equipment.

Applicants should have 5+ years in industrial electrical maintenance, strong reading of manuals and blueprints, and a commitment to safety in every task. Flexibility for shift work and callouts is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in industrial electrical maintenance in power plants.
• Ability to read manuals, blueprints and control drawings.

Responsibilities

• Maintains power plant equipment and electrical systems.
• Repairs/inspects generators, transformers, breakers and switchgear.
• Performs routine and emergency maintenance and diagnostics.
• Works with other crafts and apprentices, ensuring safety.
• Maintains records of work orders, tests and calibrations.
