Job summary

NRG Energy seeks an experienced Electrical Maintenance professional to support equipment upkeep at our power generation site. You may perform Head Electrician duties during absences and ensure adherence to safety, environmental and operational standards.

The role requires reading manuals, troubleshooting and coordinating with other crafts while maintaining records and supporting plant operations around the clock.

Qualifications

• Five years (including apprenticeship) or more of industrial electrical maintenance experience in repair, inspection, testing, installation and/or maintenance of power plant equipment.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Knowledge of electricity, voltage and current relationships and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical maintenance support to maintain equipment in a power plant.
• Read and interpret instruction manuals, blueprints and control system drawings.
• Repair, test, troubleshoot, inspect and install electrical equipment such as generators, transformers and switchgear.
• Complete work orders, calibration sheets and time cards documenting progress.
• Work with other crafts and apprentices, ensuring safe, proper procedures.
• Follow safety guidelines and environmental regulations at all times.
