NRG Energy in Princeton, NJ, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support maintenance, repair, and operation of the generation fleet. The role requires deep knowledge of electrical theory, power plant design, and testing complex equipment up to 13.8kV.

You will lead test plans, collaborate with engineers and plant personnel, ensure safety compliance, read and create drawings, and provide round-the-clock emergency support as needed with travel across the US.

Formación

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering required.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience in Power Generation.
• Ten years' experience in power generation preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Perform or lead testing and maintenance of protective electrical systems in substations and power plants.
• Develop and implement test plans and procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, plant personnel and contracted firms on electrical projects.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Provide technical support and training to junior technicians.
• Read, interpret, create, and revise power plant drawings and diagrams.
• Assist in outage forecasting, maintenance prioritization, and budget development.
• Provide around-the-clock emergency support and travel as needed (US).
• Understand generators, switchgear, excitation equipment, protective relays, breakers and transformers.
