Job summary

Prairie State Energy Campus is seeking an Electrical, Instrumentation/Controls Intern to assist with installing, troubleshooting, calibrating, repairing and maintaining plant and auxiliary equipment including PLCs and DCS. You will gain hands-on experience across electrical and control systems while supporting safety and environmental compliance.

You will work under supervision to develop skills in CMMS work orders, equipment monitoring procedures, and safe operation practices.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Enrolled in a two or four-year technical degree in Electrical / Technology program, electrical engineering or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Assist’s with troubleshooting all field instrumentation and control systems equipment failures.
• Assist with calibration and tuning of field instrumentation and control systems.
• Assist in troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating and maintaining electrical pumps, motors, relays and I/C equipment as required.
• Use CMMS to maintain and control work orders and spare parts inventory.
• Adhere to Safety, Environmental and Plant procedures.
