Prairie State Energy Campus is seeking an Electrical, Instrumentation/Controls Intern to assist with installing, troubleshooting, calibrating, repairing, and maintaining power plant and auxiliary equipment, including PLCs and DCS. The position requires enrollment in a two- or four-year technical degree in Electrical/Technology or related field, with a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Enrolled in a two or four-year technical degree in Electrical / Technology program, electrical engineering or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Assist’s with troubleshooting all field instrumentation and control systems equipment failures.
• Provides input on required services including calibration and tuning of field instrumentation and control systems.
• Assist’s in troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating and maintaining electrical pumps, motors, relays and I/C equipment as required.
• Uses CMMS to maintain and control work order system and spare parts inventory.
• Practices environmental and safety stewardship.
• Assists in equipment or system problem identification and recommends solutions.
• Assist in the reviews of maintenance procedures for electrical and I/C equipment to ensure consistent and safe operation.
• Adherence to all Safety, Environmental and Plant procedures.
• Assists in requisitioning parts and supplies.
