Job summary

Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Control Room Operator/Technician at the Fort Lupton, CO site.

The role involves monitoring and operating combustion and steam turbines, HRSGs, water systems, and related equipment from the control room and in the field, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. Your responsibilities include maintaining awareness of plant status, responding to alarms, and communicating detailed status to the

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's degree or power plant experience preferred.
Must successfully complete Operator Qualification Program.
CPR, spill/waste, respirator training and opacity certification as required.

Responsibilities

Support the Operations Working Foreman and shift personnel in operating a combined cycle generating facility.
Monitor and operate combustion turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, water treatment systems and related equipment from the control room and in the field.
Maintain awareness of plant operating status, alarms, trends, and system conditions; diagnose issues and take action as authorized.
Keep leadership informed of plant status, abnormal conditions, and equipment concerns.
Communicate detailed plant status during shift turnover and routine operations.
Operate valves and circuit breakers to maintain system operation and safety.
Perform water chemistry analysis and adjust as needed to maintain proper ranges.
Operate water purification and demineralization systems per procedures.
Use CMMS (Oracle) to document work and manage requests.
Read and comply with regulatory procedures, safety programs, and permits.
Complete required training including safety, spill/waste handling, and site qualifications.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as assigned.
Work overtime and irregular hours as needed for plant reliability.
Maintain plant housekeeping and security.
