Job summary

1898 & Co., part of Burns & McDonnell, seeks a senior Business Development Director to drive strategic growth with power market clients, align executive stakeholders, and shape demand for integrated consulting, digital, and implementation services.

You’ll lead discovery conversations, build trusted advisor relationships, and coordinate cross-functional teams to move opportunities from strategy to execution.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal abilities and ability to present complex information.
• Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Experience delivering training on proposals and pursuit strategies.
• Deep experience in power markets, utilities, IPPs or grid operators.
• Proven consultative business development and executive relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop targeted account growth strategies for power market clients.
• Lead executive-level discovery conversations with clients.
• Shape engagement roadmaps from strategy to execution.
• Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with senior client leadership.
• Collaborate with internal leaders to align pursuit priorities and cross-sell.
• Manage the full sales lifecycle and maintain CRM pipeline.
