Job summary

Kiewit invites applications for a Finance Analyst Intern role focused on supporting a project in accounting and finance tasks. Each project operates like a small business, with emphasis on cost control, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, human capital management, and compliance.

The intern will gain hands-on experience across cost and revenue components such as labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracts.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, or equivalent.
• Must be legally authorized to work without sponsorship for employment.
• Ability to relocate anywhere in the country.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Travel and/or relocation may be required up to 50%.
• Experience with Pivot Tables, V-LookUps and other key Excel functions is preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to freely access all parts of a construction site.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes the importance of being a team player and adapts to project needs.
• Fosters relationships with the Operations team and shows willingness to learn.
• Understands payroll and HR process workflow and masters related systems.
• Manages purchasing workflow controls and accounts payable processes.
• Understands intercompany and client billing workflow and cash management effects.
• Ensures cost and cost adjustments meet accounting rules and company standards.
• Reviews forecast and budget reports and corrects irregularities for management reporting.
• Supports forecast and budget issue identification with cost reporting.
• Provides strong customer service and maintains a proactive, collaborative attitude.
• Maintains organized work environment and communicates clearly and effectively.
• Follows Corporate Compliance and supports EEO and labor law adherence.

Education

Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, and/or equivalent degree
