Job summary

SolPowerlines seeks a field-based helper to assist linemen in constructing, maintaining, and repairing overhead power distribution lines. You will perform sectionalizing, pre-job inspections, and operate a digger derrick under supervision, while following safety procedures and PPE rules.

The role involves outdoor work in varying weather, on-call duties, and travel to different sites. Candidates should be able to lift heavy equipment, work at heights, and pass drug/background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL required.
• Ability to pass drug and background checks.
• Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist linemen in constructing, maintaining, and repairing overhead distribution lines.
• Perform sectionalizing and isolation for maintenance or emergencies.
• Conduct pre-job inspections and ensure safety gear is operational.
• Operate a Digger Derrick truck to dig and set poles.
• Communicate with crews and dispatch regarding switching orders and status.
• Follow safety procedures (OSHA) and wear PPE at all times.
• Support storm restoration and emergency response efforts.
