Job summary

Verdantas is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Power Group across Lehigh Valley, Wilkes-Barre, or Philadelphia, PA. You will perform civil engineering design and analysis for power utility facilities, substations, and land development, from concept through construction.

Ideal candidates have a ABET-accredited civil engineering degree, 4–8 years of related experience, and an EIT certification (PE preferred or in progress).

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program.
• 4–8 years of civil engineering experience focused on power utilities, land development, or related infrastructure.
• EIT required; PE preferred or in progress.
• Experience preparing land development, utility site, access, and permit applications.
• Proven site layout and design, stormwater, drainage and erosion control.
• Knowledge of local/state permitting processes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling experience is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while contributing to project teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil engineering design and analysis for a variety of power utility and land development projects.
• Prepare site development plans, grading plans, utility plans, access plans, and construction documents.
• Design stormwater management, drainage and conveyance, and utility infrastructure systems.
• Support coordination with power utility clients and stakeholders on access and permitting.
• Coordinate permitting efforts with municipal, county, and state review agencies.
• Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and project delivery activities.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.
• Conduct site visits and field investigations as needed.
• Assist with proposals, technical reports, cost estimates, and project documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
