Job summary

Verdantas is seeking a Land Development Project Engineer for our Lehigh Valley, PA or Wilkes-Barre, PA offices. You will lead civil design for diverse land development projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and clients from concept through construction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 4-8 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on land development and site design.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or in progress.
  • Experience preparing land development plans and permit applications.
  • Knowledge of site layout and design, stormwater management, grading and drainage design, utility infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, and local and state permitting processes.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while contributing effectively to project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform civil engineering design and analysis for land development projects.
  • Prepare and review site development plans, grading plans, utility plans, and construction documents.
  • Design and analyze stormwater management systems, drainage and conveyance infrastructure, erosion and sediment control measures, site grading and earthwork, roadway and access improvements, and utility infrastructure systems.
  • Coordinate permitting efforts and prepare applications for municipal, county, and state review agencies.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and project delivery activities.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal project teams.
  • Conduct site visits and field investigations as needed.
  • Assist with proposal preparation, technical reports, cost estimates, and project documentation.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff while continuing professional development.
