Job summary

G&W Electric is seeking a Sales Engineer - Power Grid Automation to drive revenue growth by combining solution-based selling with deep technical expertise in medium voltage switchgear and Power Grid Automation. You will engage with consultants, EPCs, contractors and end users across utilities, industrial facilities, data centers, and commercial markets.

Travel up to 50% to support opportunities. Own the engagement cycle from discovery to close, develop tailored proposals with internal teams, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (MBA preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in power grid automation engineering or related fields.
• Proven ability to close technical solutions with customers.
• Knowledge of MV switchgear and power grid automation technologies.
• Experience with DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, RTUs, IEDs, and ethernet.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Drive business growth by developing and executing strategic sales plans across assigned territories and market segments.
• Lead solution design discussions with consultants, EPCs, developers, and end users to tailor G&W solutions.
• Develop account plans for strategic customers and national consultants to drive penetration.
• Own the full customer engagement cycle from discovery through contract negotiation and close.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop targeted proposals for large opportunities.
• Support project kickoff sessions to ensure smooth handoff to project management.
