Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks an experienced Project Development Project Manager to join our Michigan-based Power Generation team.

You will lead multi-discipline project teams, develop strategy, win work, and manage performance from pre-positioning through completion. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills, with experience in power generation projects (simple cycle, combined cycle, cogeneration, renewables).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 7 years related experience including at least 2 years in project management.
• Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
• MS Office and MS Project experience is required.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive and proactive client relationships.
• Achieve project schedule, quality, and profitability goals.
• Serve as proposal champion/manager and assist with proposal preparation, review of contract terms and conditions, and evaluate risks associated with the services being offered.
• Provide daily leadership to the project team and technical staff in completion of project activities.
• Provide regular communication and coordination within the project team and with the client such that the project work plan and the client's expectations on deliverables are understood and aligned.
• Proactively monitor and maintain the project budget and schedule. Develop appropriate recovery plans in the event of potential shortfalls.
• Monitor the contracted scope of work and identify scope changes.
• Provide training and mentoring to project team staff on project management and project consulting issues.
• Perform design or consulting work in the manager's area of engineering expertise.
• Routinely report project progress to the local and regional accounting and operations team.
• All other duties as assigned
