Base Electron is seeking a Senior Director, Business Development and M&A - Power Generation in Dallas, TX. You will lead sourcing, evaluation, and early-stage structuring of acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, and partnerships to support data center growth with diverse generation assets.

The role emphasizes asset quality, interconnection rights, regulatory factors, commercial structures, and risk-adjusted returns across multiple generation technologies.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Business, Economics, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, private equity, energy infrastructure investing, project finance, or business development within the power generation industry.
• Demonstrated experience sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and closing power generation or energy infrastructure transactions.
• Strong understanding of power markets, wholesale/retail market dynamics, capacity markets, interconnection, transmission, PPAs, fuel supply, and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Source, identify, and cultivate acquisition, investment, joint venture, development, and strategic partnership opportunities across the power generation sector.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of operating plants, development-stage projects, project companies, and related energy infrastructure.
• Evaluate opportunities for data center load growth, interconnection rights, and near-term cash flow while considering long-term value.
• Lead early-stage discussions on acquisitions, investments, and partnerships; structure and negotiate term sheets and LOIs.
• Coordinate cross-functional due diligence and work with internal/external advisors through transaction execution.
