Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician to support a reciprocating engine-based power generation facility. You will troubleshoot, maintain, calibrate, and repair electrical, instrumentation, controls, and automation systems for engine-generator units and plant auxiliaries.

You will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, OEM reps, and contractors to ensure reliability, safety, and compliance with lockout/tagout procedures while documenting

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical school, trade school, military training, apprenticeship, or equivalent in instrumentation, electrical, controls, automation, or power generation preferred.
• 4 years of progressive I&E technician or similar role experience in power generation or heavy industrial environments.
• Experience with electrical systems up to 34,500 Volts.
• Experience with engine-generator systems or large industrial electrical systems preferred.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, motor controls, instrumentation loops, and industrial control systems required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, calibrate, and repair plant instrumentation, electrical, and control systems for engine-generator units and balance-of-plant equipment.
• Maintain instrumentation such as pressure, temperature, level, flow, vibration, gas detection, and emissions monitoring devices.
• Support engine/generator control systems, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and related control panels.
• Inspect and repair electrical circuits, wiring, motor controls, solenoids, relays, switches, transmitters, and sensors.
• Perform electrical maintenance on LV/MV/HV equipment including switchgear and transformers.
• Test and calibrate valves, actuators, dampers, sensors, and safety interlocks.
• Participate in root-cause analysis, corrective actions, reliability improvements, and preventive maintenance planning.
