Job summary

Interstate Power Systems is seeking a Field Service Technician for power generation equipment in Sioux City, IA. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair diesel and natural gas generators, transfer switches, and related systems at various customer sites.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, load bank testing, and on-site support with a strong emphasis on safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade training in power generation, electrical, or mechanical systems preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Power Generation Technician or in a related field preferred (e.g., diesel mechanic, electrical technician).
• Strong knowledge of diesel and natural gas engines, electrical systems, and control panels.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on power generation equipment, including generators and control systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and electronic issues in generator systems.
• Conduct load bank testing, system upgrades, and installations as needed.
