Interstate Power Systems is recruiting a Power Generation Technician for Davenport, Iowa. The role covers installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel and natural gas generators, transfer switches, and related systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience with diesel engines, electrical control panels, and be capable of working independently in a fast-paced field service environment while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a power generation technician or related field.
• Strong knowledge of diesel/natural gas engines and electrical/control systems.
• Familiarity with major genset brands (Cummins, Caterpillar, Kohler).
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and testing equipment.

Responsabilités

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair power generation equipment.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control issues in generator systems.
• Perform load bank testing and system upgrades as needed.
• Ensure safety compliance and document service activities.
• Communicate with clients and collaborate with team for service delivery.
• Respond to on-call service requests.
• Maintain tools and service vehicles in good condition.
