Interstate Power Systems in Bismarck, North Dakota, seeks a Power Generation Field Service Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and commission diesel, LP, and natural gas generators and related systems. You will work across multiple sites, performing preventive maintenance and diagnostics while ensuring safety and client satisfaction.

The role requires hands-on experience with diesel and gas engines, electrical systems, and control panels, plus a willingness to travel and work on-call

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or vocational training in power generation, electrical, or mechanical systems preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Power Generation Technician or in a related field preferred (e.g., diesel mechanic, electrical technician).
• Strong knowledge of diesel and natural gas engines, electrical systems, and control panels.

Responsabilités

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on power generation equipment, including generators, engines, and control systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and electronic issues in generator systems.
• Conduct load bank testing, system upgrades, commissioning testing and certification, and installations as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company protocols.
• Document service activities, including detailed reports on maintenance, repairs, and parts used.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients to ensure exceptional service delivery.
• Respond to emergency service calls and provide on-call support as needed.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in excellent working conditions.
• May need to travel, including overnights, depending on customer needs.
