Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Data Analyst Intern to support the EDSP team in Denver, CO. The internship focuses on distribution system performance, reliability, and reporting, with hands-on work transforming large datasets into actionable insights for operational decisions.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a college/university pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field.
Able to work full-time during summer (up to 40 hours/week) or part-time during school year (up to 20 hours/week).
Willing to commute to the Lipan Distribution Center in Denver per hybrid policy.
Experience with Excel and data visualization tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

Analyze distribution system performance data to identify trends and insights.
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Excel, Power BI and Databricks.
Support data validation, cleansing, and preparation across multiple data sources.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support data-driven decision making.
Perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support EDSP initiatives.
Document analytical methods and present findings to team members.
