Job summary

Enerflex Ltd in Houston seeks a Commissioning Manager to lead the safety-conscious planning, coordination, and execution of pre-commissioning, energization, commissioning, startup, and handover for packaged power-generation systems. You will define strategy, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure readiness and documentation quality throughout the process.

The role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of power-generation equipment, and ability to manage interfaces with Engineering,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute commissioning, startup, performance testing, and turnover strategies.
• Lead commissioning readiness reviews and coordinate energization, first-fire, synchronization, load acceptance, and functional testing.
• Direct commissioning personnel and coordinate OEMs, contractors, customers, Engineering, Quality, Operations & Maintenance, and third-party providers.
• Develop commissioning plans with boundaries, schedules, staffing, risks, and turnover requirements.
• Review contracts, OEM requirements, performance guarantees, drawings, ITPs, and schedules to establish the commissioning basis.
• Develop commissioning procedures, test plans, checklists, status controls, and handover processes.
• Lead system walkdowns and verify completion, permits, tooling, spares, and resource readiness.
• Coordinate pre-commissioning activities including flushing, leak testing, alignment, lubrication, and relay testing.
• Lead startup and commissioning activities with adherence to procedures, safety, and regulatory obligations.
• Coordinate technicians, OEM representatives, contractors, and testing firms to achieve milestones.
• Lead daily commissioning meetings, issue resolution, and escalation activities.
• Coordinate training, procedures, spare parts, and transition to Operations & Maintenance.
• Capture lessons learned and standardize commissioning tools and reports.
