Job summary

WSP is seeking a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer (Generation) to join our Power & Energy team. The role involves mechanical design through the full project lifecycle, coordinating with electrical, structural, and civil disciplines on power generation projects. Travel to client sites will be required 5–10% of the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• 5+ years of relevant post‑education mechanical design experience for industrial facilities.
• FE or EIT certification completed.
• Working knowledge of mechanical codes, regulations and record‑keeping.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design from concept through design completion.
• Design systems to meet project needs and specs.
• Prepare equipment specs, data sheets and bid evaluations.
• Review drawings and coordinate with designers and drafters.
• Evaluate vendor submittals for mechanical equipment.
• Collaborate with electrical, structural, civil teams for coordination.
• Travel to sites 5–10% as needed to interface with clients.
