Zusammenfassung

General Motors is seeking a senior engineering role to lead strategy and advanced technology development for power inverters and PE system design for its EV portfolio. The role requires coordinating roadmaps, conducting modeling and testing, and delivering high-performance, cost-effective solutions with internal and external partners.

You will collaborate with Product Engineering, Systems Engineering, Modeling, and Manufacturing, while mentoring staff and driving improvements.

Qualifikationen

  • Master of Science or PhD in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive power electronics.
  • Extensive knowledge in inverter and PE theory and principles.
  • Extensive knowledge in design, development, and testing of inverters and PE systems.
  • Experience in analysis, design, development, and specification of PE for EV applications.
  • Experience in implementing PE solutions in production.
  • Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Fluency with modeling and simulation tools for PE systems.
  • Ability to travel to support supplier engagements and conferences.
  • DFSS Black Belt certification (preferred).

Aufgaben

  • Set strategic direction, coordinate technology roadmaps, and provide technical leadership for power inverters and PE system design & integration.
  • Develop and manage technology for advanced power inverters and PE systems.
  • Lead advanced technology development on power inverters, including design, testing, and reporting.
  • Meet performance and cost targets for future EVs by collaborating with Product Engineering and other teams.
  • Specify system requirements balancing interdisciplinary needs for optimized performance.
  • Coordinate efforts of technical staff and project outcomes.
  • Lead global benchmarking and stay informed on new tech and competitors.
  • Coach and mentor team members; pursue cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Teach inverter and PE principles and share knowledge across the organization.
  • Establish relationships with universities, labs, and technical organizations.
