Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group is seeking an Electrical Hardware Engineer specializing in power electronics for on-site duties in Houston, TX. You will contribute to digital, analog, and power circuit design, perform board bring-up, prototyping, testing, and debugging using standard lab equipment.

Experience with downhole electronics in oil and gas is preferred, plus ability to generate test plans and deliverables to customers. Basic script knowledge in C/C++ or Python is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of Digital, Analog and Power Circuits.
• Experienced in Analog and Power circuit design.
• Board bring-up activities, prototyping support.
• Design & Testing experience in Oil & Gas Downhole electronics is preferred.
• Understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Familiar with circuit simulation.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex circuit failure using debugging tools.
• Experienced in using test equipment to test functionality of product and for circuit analysis/troubleshooting.
• Familiar with basic test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, Multimeter, Power Supply, E-Load, signal generator, Oven).
• Basic knowledge of test automation using C, C++ or Python.

Responsibilities

• Board bring up activities and prototyping support.
• Assist design and testing of power-electronics hardware.
• Prepare and execute test plans and reports for customers.
• Support downhole electronic projects in oil & gas contexts.
• Utilize basic test equipment to verify circuit behavior and debug issues.
