Job summary

ON.energy is seeking a hands-on Test Engineer for our Houston team. You will design, integrate, and execute tests for state-of-the-art power conversion systems and energy storage solutions, working across lab bench, CAD tools, and field activities.

The role emphasizes learning MATLAB/Simulink, PLC programming, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) while handling equipment up to 2000Vdc and 1000Vac. Growth opportunities span testing, electrical design, and validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 1–2 years experience in design, integration and testing of electrical installations or internships/projects with labs.
• Foundational knowledge of power electronics (inverters/rectifiers) and grid-related technologies.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and prepare technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support test development and execution for high-power converters and storage systems.
• Operate lab equipment to perform functional, performance, and stress tests.
• Document results and comply with safety standards and lab procedures.
