Actalent is seeking a Hardware Power Electronics Engineer in Franksville, WI to design and develop high‑voltage power electronics for solar, energy storage, EV charging, and test systems. The role emphasizes SiC/GaN devices, digital control, EMI/EMC, and manufacturability.

You will lead projects through concept to production, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with UL/CE standards. Strong CAD and lab skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
Minimum 4 years of related experience in power electronics and control systems design.
Experience with DC-DC and AC-DC conversion and high‑voltage, high‑power designs.
Strong fundamentals in electronics, thermal management, EMI/EMC, and protection circuits.
Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and analysis.

Responsibilities

Design and develop power electronics for solar, energy storage, EV charging, and test systems using SiC and GaN devices.
Lead full product development lifecycle from concept to production.
Develop digital control algorithms for power converter systems and validate designs.
Collaborate with PCB layout and mechanical teams to ensure manufacturability, EMI/EMC compliance, and thermal performance.
Drive UL/CE compliance, EMC testing, and troubleshooting of EMI issues.
Utilize MATLAB, Simulink, and SimPower Systems to model topologies and control strategies.
Support device selection, cooling, passive components, sensing circuits, and protection schemes.
