Job summary

Sigma Technologies is seeking an experienced Power Designer for field-to-design lifecycle work in Oklahoma. You will collect field data, verify conditions, and deliver complete construction-ready designs for overhead distribution and pole make-ready projects.

Travel is involved; some fieldwork occurs in varied Oklahoma regions with remote work when not onsite. Qualified candidates have 1+ year in power distribution design or make-ready engineering and strong CAD/MicroStation skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree or higher preferred in engineering, drafting, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in power distribution design or make-ready engineering; 2+ years strongly preferred.
• Experience performing utility pole walkouts and field data collection to support design work.
• Proven experience applying NESC standards, clearance analysis, and pole loading concepts.
• Proficiency with CAD or MicroStation; experience with DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Perform field data collection, pole walkouts, and field surveys to collect attachment, clearance, and structural data.
• Execute overhead distribution and make-ready designs in compliance with NESC and client standards.
• Evaluate field conditions, determine make-ready requirements, perform pole loading analysis, and develop construction-ready design packages.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and quality teams; support QC reviews as needed.
