Job summary

Sigma Technologies seeks an experienced Make Ready Designer for remote work across the U.S. In this role you turn field data into construction-ready overhead make-ready designs for electric and telecom utilities.

You will evaluate pole conditions, apply NESC clearances, and identify modifications while coordinating with project teams. Qualified candidates have 2+ years in make-ready or electric distribution design, proficiency with CAD/MicroStation, and familiarity with DDS/Katapult/O-Calc.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in make-ready engineering, joint-use, or electric power distribution design (3+ yrs preferred).
• Experience in utility pole design, NESC, clearances, pole loading, and construction-ready packages.
• Proficiency with CAD or MicroStation; experience with DDS, Katapult, O-Calc preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete make-ready and overhead pole design work orders meeting quality, schedule, and budget goals.
• Review field data, pole information, and attachment details.
• Evaluate joint-use attachments, NESC clearances, and required modifications.
• Develop construction-ready make-ready designs including pole transfers and attachments.
• Apply NESC requirements and client design criteria.
• Perform end-to-end make-ready and joint-use design as needed.
• Conduct permitting and easement research as required.
• Collaborate to resolve design conflicts and field discrepancies.
• Use DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS.
• Support QA reviews and additional project duties.
