Job summary

HDR is seeking a Power Distribution Team Lead in Texas to manage day-to-day operations, mentor staff, and drive project profitability across distribution initiatives. You will lead engineering efforts on distribution projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams and ensuring client satisfaction.

The role requires a PE license, a engineering degree, and 7 years of related experience, including 2+ years in project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• 7 years related experience.
• Minimum 2 years project management experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• MS Office and MS Project experience required; Access is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership and active participation in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing day-to-day operations of the power distribution team, including staff development, project profitability, team morale, quality assurance, and client support.
• Serve as Assistant Project Manager or engineering lead on power distribution projects, contributing to planning, execution, and delivery while supporting broader team management responsibilities.
• Oversee administrative aspects of technical staff and service functions to align with goals and standards.
• Lead coordination with environmental, civil, geotechnical teams to deliver integrated power distribution solutions.
• Participate in business development through marketing strategy, proposals, and client interviews.
• Engage with private and public sector clients to support delivery, resolve challenges, and build long-term relationships.
