Job summary

WSP is seeking a Power Delivery Project Management Area Lead (PMAL) to manage day-to-day activities of the local/regional PM team and deliver high voltage and EHV projects. You will lead by example, drive project governance, and ensure quality and client satisfaction across the project lifecycle.

The role requires deep PM expertise, 15+ years in the Power Delivery sector, and ability to travel for face-to-face meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Engineering, Construction Management or related field within Power & Energy, or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of post-education project management experience in Power Delivery/Utility.
• At least 5 years leading engineering/construction teams for HV/EHV projects.
• Experience with PM processes: contract, risk, schedule, and financial management.
• Proficiency with project delivery and strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide PM leadership for HV and EHV projects, overseeing budgets, forecasts, margins and KPIs.
• Develop and execute BU/department recruiting plans; monitor retention.
• Lead performance reviews and salary adjustment recommendations for reports.
• Mentor new PMs and manage internal transfers and external hires.
• Engage stakeholders, report progress and maintain client relationships.
• Lead negotiations, risk mitigation, and Go/No-Go decisions for projects.
• Ensure QA/QC adherence and oversee technical reviews and project documentation.
• Coordinate resources and subcontracting, manage monthly client reporting.
• Deliver lessons‑learned and drive trusted advisor relationships with clients.
