Job summary

Power Construction Co in the Northwest region seeks a Regional Safety Manager to lead safety, health, and environmental programs across multiple states. You will partner with operations leaders, project teams, and subcontractors to ensure regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems.
• Experience with VPP or OSHA Partnerships preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Regional Safety Manager leads safety, health, and environmental programs across Power operations in the Northwest region, including Colorado, Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and other assigned locations. This role partners with operations leaders, project teams, and subcontractors to ensure regulatory compliance, drive continuous improvement, support project planning and execution, strengthen Power's safety culture, and serve as a strategic safety advisor to operational leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE & SAFETY PROGRAMS

• Manage VPP, Site-Based Partnership, and other compliance programs, including applications, implementation, documentation, and ongoing maintenance requirements.
• Serve as the primary liaison with OSHA Consultation Services, state safety agencies, and other regulatory organizations while supporting project teams and subcontractors.
• Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific safety plans.
• Support environmental compliance requirements, including SWPPP, EPA, and applicable state and local regulations.
• Support insurance compliance programs, including GL CCIP and future wrap-up insurance initiatives.

PROJECT SAFETY SUPPORT

• Conduct project visits, safety observations, and leadership safety walks to assess performance, verify compliance, and promote best practices.
• Review subcontractor safety documentation (SSSPs, JHAs, SDSs, pre-task plans, and other required documentation).
• Participate in project meetings and evaluate risks to develop mitigation strategies.

TRAINING & WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

• Deliver and coordinate safety training programs, including OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR, and Power safety training.
• Identify training needs and promote a coaching culture that reinforces safety expectations.

INCIDENT MANAGEMENT & PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT

• Lead and support incident investigations, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, reporting, and follow-up verification.
• Analyze safety metrics and trends to identify improvement opportunities and recommend program enhancements.
• Collaborate with project leadership to implement corrective and preventive actions.

SAFETY DEPARTMENT & STRATEGIC INITIATIVES

• Support departmental initiatives, business planning, and strategic safety projects.
• Develop safety resources and build industry relationships to identify best practices.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to operational leadership on safety, compliance, and risk management.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS & CRISIS MANAGEMENT

• Support crisis management, emergency response planning, drills, and project emergency procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of construction safety experience.
• Experience supporting large commercial or heavy construction projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety management systems, and construction safety practices.
• Experience with VPP, OSHA Strategic Partnerships, or similar programs preferred.
• Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and support geographically dispersed teams.

PREFRRED CERTIFICATIONS

CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, OSHA 500/510, OSHA 30-Hour Construction, First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor, and/or 40-Hour HAZWOPER.

TRAVEL

Frequent, overnight regional travel to project sites and client locations

COMPENSATION DETAILS:

Salary Range: $130,000-$160,000
