Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering in the United States is seeking a mid-level Design Engineer/Drafter to join the Drafting & Design team. The role focuses on 2D/3D modeling, coordinating with project teams and ensuring constructible designs for power facilities across North America.

Candidates should have a Diploma in drafting technology and 3–5+ years civil design experience, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, Civil 3D), and solid communication.

Qualifications

• Diploma in drafting technology with 3–5+ years civil design experience.
• Proficient in CAD drafting using AutoCAD or Civil 3D; familiarity with other CAD tools helps.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to coordinate with project teams.
• Experience with solar PV layouts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with 2D/3D modeling; ensure correct reference files and up-to-date model references.
• Coordinate with project team via Project Database and report progress or issues.
• Review designs for safety, operability and maintenance before submitting for checking.
• Create knowledge base documents and guidelines as assigned.
• Collaborate across disciplines to meet business needs and mentor others.
• Assist in completing as-builts using RFIs and ECNs when needed.
• Participate in project and layout meetings and support team activities.
