Job summary

Kiewit Corporation in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Civil Design Intern to assist with basic engineering drafting, develop drawings and 3D models from engineer-provided data, and coordinate with design teams under close supervision.

Pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's degree in CAD & Drafting; good communication; proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD, GeoPak or NavisWorks preferred; this is a full-time temporary role supporting our Power district in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively with other team members.
• Must complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Represent Kiewit Engineering and Design professionally to owners, contractors, vendors and others outside the organization.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Operations Drafting/Design Standards Manual with each task or assignment.
• Utilizes applicable document of the Department Quality Standards and Procedures to implement each task or assignment.
• Reports project progression updates to Lead Designer and informs manager of deviations from standards.
• Learns applicable engineering codes (national/local).
• Develops 3D models from drawings and design data; checks for interferences and constructability.
