Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a mid-level design engineer to contribute to 2D and 3D modeling, drawings, and constructability reviews across North American power projects.

You will work with a team of engineers and designers, maintaining reference files and ensuring project data integrity, with opportunities for growth in a fast-paced environment that handles gas-fired generation, power delivery, and renewables.

Qualifications

• Diploma in drafting technology; 3-5+ years of civil design experience implied by the role.
• Proficient in AutoCAD or Civil 3D; possible background with AutoCAD, MicroStation, GeoPak, InRoads, NavisWorks, Google Earth.
• Basic knowledge of current operating systems, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Ability to communicate effectively via email and manage electronic meeting requests.
• Experience with solar PV layouts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with 2D and 3D modeling; ensure correct references and up-to-date model files.
• Coordinate with project team via Project Database; report progress or issues to Lead Designer.
• Assist in design reviews for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements.
• Develop guidelines, checklists, or knowledge base documents as assigned.
• Collaborate with team in design and drafting techniques; provide feedback for employee development.
• Collaborate with discipline groups to support business needs.
