Job summary

Kiewit Engineering Group, Inc. is seeking a mid-level design engineer with a diploma in drafting and 3-5+ years of civil design experience. You will work on 2D/3D modeling using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, collaborate across teams, and ensure design integrity from development to construction records.

This role supports a range of power and infrastructure projects across North America, with offices including New York City and other major U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• Diploma in drafting technology and 3-5+ years civil design experience or a combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in CAD programs such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D; experience with MicroStation, GeoPak, InRoads, Navis Works, and Google Earth is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of latest operating systems, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Ability to communicate effectively via email and meetings.
• Experience with solar PV layouts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with 2D and 3D modeling; ensure correct reference files are attached and model references are up to date.
• Coordinate with project team using Project Database; report progress or issues to Lead Designer.
• Review designs for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements before submitting for checking.
• Create guidelines, checklists, or knowledge base documents as assigned.
• Collaborate with team members in design and drafting techniques and provide feedback for development.
• Support various disciplines and groups to meet business needs.
• Assist in completing as-builts using RFIs, ECNs, and red-marked drawings to develop 'Conformed to Construction Records'.
• Participate in project and layout meetings; support project team activities.
