Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an accomplished Senior BI Leader to establish and govern a new Power BI function within the AHI Data Strategy & BI team in Colorado. This role ships standard reporting, certified datasets, and secure data sharing across multiple divisions.

You will design the operating model, oversee delivery, and drive adoption of enterprise analytics practices. Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in BI, 5+ years of Power BI leadership, and strong insurance domain experience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in BI, analytics, data platform, or reporting.
• 5+ years of advanced Power BI experience.
• 3+ years in a senior lead, architect, administrator, or BI ownership role.
• Insurance industry experience preferred (P&C, specialty, MGA/MGU, wholesale brokerage, retail agency, carrier, or insurance distribution).
• Experience building or maturing a BI team, governance program, or operating model.
• Expert Power BI skills: semantic modeling, DAX, Power Query, dataflows, deployment pipelines, workspace design, performance tuning, incremental refresh, security.
• Strong governance, data cataloging, certification, stewardship, and lifecycle management.
• Design and implement complex row‑level security across multiple units.
• Advanced SQL and data modeling, including star and snowflake schemas and data warehouses.
• Experience combining data across divisions and platforms with sound judgment.
• Strong business analysis and stakeholder management; excellent written and verbal communication.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Stats/Analytics/ Data Science/Business or related field.

Responsibilities

• Creates the foundation for a new Power BI department within the AHI Data Strategy & BI team, including structure, operating model, standards, intake, delivery, quality control, and support practices.
• Sets the standard for all Power BI reporting across Arrowhead Programs, Bridge Specialty Group, and Arrowhead Specialty.
• Ensures business users receive governed, accessible information through certified datasets, standardized metrics, and report governance.
• Leads complex reporting scenarios involving row‑level security, varied data maturity, and cross‑division datasets.
