Job summary

Brown & Brown, via Arrowhead Intermediaries, seeks a Senior Power BI Lead to establish and scale a centralized Power BI function within the AHI Data Strategy & BI team. The role oversees three divisions and sets enterprise reporting standards, governance, and lifecycle management across the organization.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in BI, 5+ years with Power BI, and deep SQL/data modeling expertise, plus strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of business intelligence, analytics, data platform, or reporting experience.
• 5+ years of advanced Power BI experience and 3+ years in a senior lead/architect/administrator role.
• Required insurance industry experience, preferably in property and casualty or related fields.
• Expert-level Power BI skills: semantic modeling, DAX, Power Query, dataflows, deployment pipelines, workspace design, performance tuning, incremental refresh, composite models, report design, tenant/capacity administration.
• Strong understanding of Power BI governance, report certification, data cataloging, stewardship, metric standardization, security, lifecycle management, production support, and adoption practices.
• Design and implement complex row-level security models across multiple business units.
• Advanced SQL and data modeling: dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, data warehouses, lakehouse patterns, semantic layers.
• Experience combining data across divisions/platforms, documenting assumptions and limitations.
• Strong business analysis and stakeholder management to translate needs into data products and governance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence standards.
• Strong design sensibility for executive reporting: visualization, accessibility, UX, branding, storytelling, filters, navigation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead high-visibility initiatives while remaining hands-on in architecture and development.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, analytics, data science, business, or related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Creates the foundation for a new Power BI department inside the AHI Data Strategy & BI team, including team structure, operating model, standards, intake, delivery, quality control, and support practices.
• Sets the standard for all AHI Data Strategy Power BI reporting across divisions, balancing divisional needs with enterprise consistency.
• Ensure business users receive correct, governed, and accessible information through certified datasets, standardized metrics, report governance, and disciplined release management.
• Leads complex reporting scenarios involving row-level security requirements, different business models, varying data maturity, and cross-division datasets.
