Job summary

Wabtec Corporation seeks a Prep Technician to prepare, mask, coat, and finish metal surfaces in an industrial setting. You will operate Graco spray systems and inspect coatings for uniform thickness and finish quality.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year powder coat experience, the ability to read blueprints, and good listening/communication skills to work as part of a team. This is a first shift position with benefits starting day one.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of powder coat experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
• Knowledge of coating principles and ability to identify and fix issues like fisheye or poor adhesion.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, mask, coat, and finish metal surfaces.
• Operate Graco spray system to apply industrial finishes on metal parts.
• Inspect coatings for runs, debris, fisheye, and uniform thickness.
• Maintain and replace paint gun components and perform daily equipment checks.
• Support 5s and cleaning procedures; assist others to resolve production issues.
