Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking a paint/coating operator for 2nd shift (3:00pm - 11:30pm) with training on 1st shift. You will prepare and coat manufactured parts, operate a Graco paint system, and inspect finishes for quality and color consistency.

The role requires reading blueprints, measuring viscosity and thickness, and collaborating with teammates to resolve production and quality issues. Safety and 5S practices are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of coating principles and practices and ability to identify coating problems.
• Ability to set, read measuring instruments such as viscosity testers and thickness gauges.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings and sketches.
• Ability to interpret specifications for color and coating thickness.
• Ability to operate coating equipment and work as a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, mask, coat, and finish metal or other surfaces.
• Operate Graco spray system to apply industrial paint finishes.
• Inspect painted units for runs, debris, fish eye, and coating uniformity.
• Maintain paint guns and perform daily booth checks and cleaning.
• Support 5S procedures and assist other operators as needed.
• Perform occasional booth and equipment maintenance.
