Job summary

ATI Specialty Materials seeks a Powder Atomization Process Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in North Carolina. You will work with Engineering and Operations teams to improve manufacturing processes, support automation initiatives, and enhance powder production quality and consistency.

You'll gain hands-on experience in powder atomization, process improvement, automation, and error-proofing while collaborating across plants to standardize practices and reduce variability.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Rising junior or senior preferred with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Interest in manufacturing processes, process improvement, and automation.

Responsibilities

Configure barcode scanning to error-proof the BPO can-up process.
Develop a process to perform addbacks and dilutions on BOSS at BPO.
Analyze process data to identify opportunities for quality and process improvement.
Partner with Operations and Engineering teams to implement practical process improvements.
