Pilgrim’s Hatchery Team in Russellville, AL is hiring for a Hatchery Labor role. You will handle eggs, monitor incubation, assist with chick hatching, and perform quality checks to maintain high animal care and biosecurity standards.

You’ll operate specialized equipment and follow strict safety protocols in a fast-paced setting. Qualifications include a High School Diploma/GED and poultry or food industry experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Experience: Poultry or food industry experience is a plus.
• Skills: multitask and communicate well, both written and oral; be a team player.
• Physical: work in high-temperature environments; lift/push heavy loads as described.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle and set eggs in incubators according to procedures.
• Monitor incubation conditions (temperature, humidity, ventilation).
• Assist with chick hatching and transfer; ensure proper care.
• Perform quality checks on eggs and chicks for health and biosecurity.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas per guidelines.
• Follow biosecurity and animal welfare protocols to protect flock health.
• Record data on egg counts, hatch rates, and chick quality.
• Assist with vaccination and transport preparation for chicks.
• Other duties as assigned.
