Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Broiler Service Technician to support flock health, welfare, and performance while ensuring compliance with PPC standards. You will work with live production management and contract growers to apply biosecurity, nutrition, and environmental protocols.

Responsibilities include monitoring health, tracking data, coordinating feed, inspecting farms, training growers, assisting with chick placements, and reporting performance to management. This is a on-site role in Georgia.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Poultry Science or similar field preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirement.
• Certifications: Current driver’s license and good driving record.
• Experience: 2-5 years of directly related experience preferred.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office; MTech experience is a plus. Strong communication and leadership skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between the Company and contract growers, ensuring strong communication and support.
• Monitor flock health and husbandry practices, providing recommendations to improve bird welfare and performance.
• Track, record, and analyze flock data, including mortality rates, feed consumption, and growth trends.
• Maintain feed inventories and coordinate feed orders to ensure timely and accurate supply.
• Ensure compliance with biosecurity and company protocols, conducting regular farm inspections and reporting issues.
• Provide technical guidance and training to growers and staff, supporting best practices and operational efficiency.
• Assist with chick placements and bird movements, ensuring proper handling and scheduling according to company standards.
• Prepare and submit accurate reports on flock performance, feed usage, and farm conditions to management for review.
• Other duties as assigned.
