Job summary

Versova is hiring a Flock Specialist I to support and maintain barns and ensure poultry health and welfare. This role involves performing unskilled to semi-skilled poultry tasks per instructions and routines.

Applicants should be able to lift 50 lbs, work nights, weekends, and holidays, and follow USDA, FDA, SQF, and OSHA standards. The position requires flexibility to work across different weather conditions within barns.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of general work experience.
• Must lift 50 lbs. and work in varying climates.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal).
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ethical treatment of livestock and maintain high standards.
• Follow USDA, FDA, and local regulations and procedures.
• Check and maintain feeders, waterers, and poultry equipment.
• Clean poultry houses, pens, feeders, water devices, and egg transfers.
• Keep records on poultry mortality, feeding, and flock information.
• Fix egg jams and replace burnt-out light bulbs; replace birds as needed.
